Live 1-on-1 Japanese Lessons with a Real Teacher

✍️ Mori-sensei · Japanese Teacher · Updated 2026-06-24

Self-study and AI practice get you a long way, but nothing replaces a real teacher who watches how you speak, corrects what a textbook can not, and keeps you accountable. Dreamax live lessons connect you one-on-one with Miss Mori from our Osaka school, online, in focused 25-minute sessions.

How it works

Lessons run in 25-minute slots over Microsoft Teams. Pick a time that suits you — availability is shown in your own timezone alongside Japan time — and book in a few taps.

Want a longer session? Book two or three consecutive slots and they become a single longer lesson with one join link.

About five minutes before the start, your Teams join link arrives by email and on the site. After the lesson, you and your teacher keep a private thread for homework, prep notes, and files.

Pricing and the trial

Your first lesson is a trial at 70% off, so you can meet your teacher with almost no risk. After that, lessons are pay-as-you-go or cheaper in a package (5, 10, or 20 lessons, with bigger discounts on bigger packs). Packages stay valid for six months — buy now, book later.

Free members can book too — you do not need a subscription to take a live lesson.

Who it suits

Beginners who want their pronunciation fixed early, JLPT candidates who need targeted speaking and exam strategy, and anyone whose progress has plateaued with apps alone. Lessons are tailored to you from a short intake survey you fill in after booking your trial.

Live 1-on-1 vs. the Teacher-Guided Video Course

Not sure whether to book live lessons or take the Teacher-Guided Video Course? They suit different needs, and many learners use both.

The Teacher-Guided Video Course is a steady weekly path: recorded lessons, a real teacher grading your homework, weekly feedback and messaging — one level at a time, moving at a sustainable pace.

Live 1-on-1 is real-time, personal, and on demand: 25 minutes with a teacher when you need it, ideal for fixing pronunciation early, targeted exam strategy, or breaking through a plateau. Take the video course for structure, and drop in live lessons at the moments that matter.
